Why I Built LevelHabit: ADHD, a Breakup, a Fresh Start
Hi, I'm Eddy, the person behind LevelHabit.
Living with ADHD without knowing it

For most of my life I struggled with ADHD without knowing it. I just thought something was wrong with me. I'd start things full of energy and drop them weeks later. I'd lose focus, miss things that mattered, and feel like I was always working twice as hard to keep up.
It made work hard. It made relationships hard too. The people closest to me felt the forgetfulness and the inconsistency, and I felt the guilt.
If you want the practical side, I also wrote a guide to using a gamified habit tracker with ADHD.
The turning point: a breakup and a journey of self-discovery
Then I went through the hardest breakup of my life. It knocked me flat, but it also made me stop and look honestly at myself. I went on a journey to figure out who I was and why I kept getting in my own way.
Part of that journey was finally looking for help with my ADHD. Getting treatment didn't fix everything overnight, but it started to change things. For the first time, I could see a path to being the person I wanted to be.
This is my personal experience, not medical advice. If you think you might have ADHD, talking to a doctor or a qualified professional is a great first step.
Building the habit app I needed
I needed a habit tracker that actually helped me stick to my habits and goals, so I started building one for myself. I'm a solo developer, and LevelHabit began as a little tool just for me.
It quickly turned into a passion project. Now I work on it 10 to 14 hours a day, and I love it. If LevelHabit helps even one person become more productive and stick to their goals, my mission is complete.
Want to see how it works? LevelHabit is a gamified habit tracker: your habits earn XP, level up your pixel-art hero, and grow your streak flames. Here's how it works, and here's why I built it with ADHD brains in mind.
Fitness changed everything

One of the most important habits I've built is fitness. Moving my body every day clears my head, gives me energy and reminds me that I can keep a promise to myself. If you have a fitness goal, start where you are. One workout, one walk, one ride. Then do it again tomorrow.
Gratitude and the dark times
I've learned to take time every day to be grateful for everything life has to offer. Sometimes you have to go through the darkest times of your life before you start believing in yourself. That's where I found the strength to change, and it's where a lot of us find it.
You're capable of more than you think
I never thought I could build an app. I never thought I'd be able to stick to anything long term. I was wrong about both.
So if you've ever felt like you can't stick with anything, I want you to know you're capable of way more than you think. Start small, keep showing up, and believe in yourself.
